Why one word?
Salvation is often spoken of as though eternal life were something the believer might finally receive later, provided faith remains strong enough or life is lived well enough. But Scripture repeatedly speaks in the language of possession. Christ did not say the believer may someday receive everlasting life. He said the believer hath it.
